Meet internationally recognized and accredited artist Debbie LaBes. I was first introduced to cosmetic tattoo by a lady I worked with in 2003 and immediately fell in love with all aspects of the treatment, I have been doing this procedure now commercially since 2006. Eyebrows are one of the most important features on your face – they frame your eyes. Not everyone is blessed with perfect eyebrows. You might be suffering from thin and uneven brows, or you may have even lost your eyebrows altogether due to aging or illness. Powders and pencils can help to fill in uneven brows but they are time consuming to apply and smear easily. Traditional block tattooed eyebrows look harsh and have a lot of side effects so be careful I always advise to do your research, with over 1000 treatments performed I am happy to look after you. Book a free consultation where I can go through my technique and demonstrate by drawing the natural shape that can be designed for you.

I want to take a moment to reassure you that I take the safety of my clients very seriously.
Located in Burleigh Waters, my clinic is licensed by the council and regularly monitored to ensure all equipment and practices meet the highest standard of hygiene and infection control policies all year round.
All equipment used on clients are single use, disposable items. All work areas are sterilised after every client with hospital grade disinfectant. I wear appropriate PPE, and have current qualifications in maintaining infection control.
In line with COVID-19 safety practices, all clients visiting the premises must wash their hands and use antibacterial hand sanitiser upon arrival. You will then be provided with a mask to wear during your procedure.
I work in very close proximity with you, so I kindly ask that you understand the importance of strictly following these practices for the safety of everyone.
I understand that you may have booked in advance, however please be aware that If you arrive showing signs of being unwell, I reserve the right to reschedule your appointment in the interest of safety to you, myself and other clients.
This is a technique which uses a hand-held tool where I can draw hairlines in 1 at a time. This technique has taken me a very long time to prefect, it is very difficult to find the correct depth and control that will give you beautiful hairstrokes in a natural looking pattern.
When done well they can really complement your face making your eyebrows appear fuller, because of the shallow depth used with this method to create a fine hairline these brows require more frequent touch-ups
INCLUDES:
CONSULTATION
PERSONALISED BROW DESIGN
TOPICAL ANAESTHETIC
MICROBLADING BROW
AFTERCARE KIT
This technique uses my cosmetic tattoo pen and power supply. I can also draw hairline in 1 at a time but I use a single needle and a very steady hand.
This takes me the longest and when done well is one of the most natural looks you can have. It is gentler than microblading with less chance of going to deep, however it also can require more frequent touch-ups
INCLUDES:
CONSULTATION
PERSONALISED BROW DESIGN
MACHINE HAIR STROKE HYPERREALISTIC BROWS
TOPICAL ANAESTHETIC
AFTERCARE KIT

Imagine having artistically drawn on eyebrows and waking up like that every day, this technique is called micro-blading or feather touch brows. Perfect for rebuilding your natural brow and done in a way that the individual hair strokes blend so well, you cant tell which is a natural hair or one that has been placed in by hand.

I have been fortunate enough to have trained with some of the best artists in the world, completing princess brows in 2015 and receiving certification from The Branko Babic Acedemy in 2016, there is of course a lot more training that I have done, but these two courses have shaped me into the artist I have become today, proudly I am member of the “PhiBrow family”.

With advancements being made in the industry we are now able to offer different types of approaches to your cosmetic tattoo experience. Powder, Blush or liner is used for Brows, Lips and Eyes. This state of the art technique involves the digital application of small amounts of natural pigments into the skin. The results are spectacular and last for several years. The finished result is totally natural and very different from a conventional tattoo.
There are no heavy blocks of colour. Through the use of many different brush strokes, Deb is able to create the illusion of natural hair. Sparse eyebrows are undetectably filled, non existent eyebrows miraculously appear and wrongly shaped eyebrows suddenly frame the eyes beautifully. Permanent eyeliner opens the eyes and makes the lashes appear fuller. Permanent lip liner corrects unevenly shaped mouths and returns youthful definition. A strategically placed beauty spot adds a touch of glamour.
A typical procedure lasts between 1 and 2 hours. You are usually able to return to work immediately. There will be slight swelling at the site, but this should subside in a matter of hours. You select the colour and shape. No procedure is ever commenced without your signed approval. Deb will draw the outline for your treatment with a waterproof makeup pencil, so there are no mistakes. Some practitioners choose to perform a treatment freehand. This is very risky.
The colour is determined only according to the natural colour of the hairs in the eyebrows and the hair.
Symmetry is determined digitally when the facial muscles are relaxed (when your eyes are closed).
Done with either digital machine or hand tool – for those who have missing bits… a small scar or just the beginning of your brows or the tails of them. the half brow is designed to blend in with your natural hairs.
Powder brows often known as Ombre brows or ombre powdered brows looks more like natural brows. It is a semi-cosmetic technique in which an artist manually inserts pigments into the top layers of the skin of the eyebrows by using cosmetic tattoo machine with shading technique.
Powdery eyebrows ombré, this technique gives a gradient effect starting lighter in front of the brows than gradual getting darker depth through to the tail of the brow ?
This is a hand method technique of semi-permanent drawing of eyebrows that imitate real hairs leaving you with hyper-realistic results. Includes a follow-up after 4 weeks, symmetry is determined digitally when the facial muscles are relaxed (when your eyes are closed).
The combination brow technique involves adding shading to your micro-blading or feather touch brows. It will give your brow more texture and depth blending into a 3 dimensional look this is perfect for people who have little to no hairs. Includes a follow-up after 4 weeks.
Permanent makeup eyeliner tattoo never smears. Always perfectly placed, permanent eyeliner can do anything topical eyeliner can do – better. Any style, any colour, multiple colours! Graduated colours, soft colours, bold colours, and bright colours are all possible. I get excited about eyeliner can you tell. I like to think of my clients eyes as being designed, not just lined. Permanent eyeliner enhances your eyes making them brighter so that the colour of them stands out.

Time and a lot of practice is what it takes to create the perfect eyeliner, I spend a lot of time with my drawing so we can ensure that your eyeliner will be precise and even.
I always use a fine line when doing a bottom eyeliner, this is to emphasis the thickness of the lashes, to open the eyes and give a little extra pop!
Love the way eyeliner makes your eyes look but hate putting it on, this simple procedure lasts for years, always looks on point so you can wake up ready.
If you are thinking about lengthening your top liner out a tad, a little smoky edge or sweep can really make your eyes look mysterious. Includes bottom liner.
Second only to eyes, the lips attract more attention than any other feature on the face. They are the focal point when speaking, adding expressive impact to the words being spoken. A person’s age, health, emotional status, and general attitude is judged by the appearance of the lips. Permanent makeup lip colouring tattoo can be used to enhance the contour of the lips towards a more pleasant, youthful, even pouty or sensual look.

The outcome will definitely give emphasis and definition to the shape of your lips. It’s like a no-hassle and permanent lip-liner!
This includes a full-lip colour with a subtle watercolour bending effect. This also includes the liner to give your lips complete contouring.
“The perfect pouty Lips” are hot property these days, with the likes of Kylie Jenner making juicy, plump pouts all the rage. Cosmetic tattoo has come a long way for lips which means you can achieve that look with a full lip blush tattoo. Includes a retouch in 6weeks.

Now that you know what NOT to do, it’s time to share my secret recipe for amazing results! I love a good acronym so here’s one to help you out, just think of:
S – C – P which stands for Semi, Cosmetic Permanent Make-up or better yet, Sooth, Cleanse and Protect!
The day of the treatment: Sooth
Gently blot the area with clean damp cotton round and wipe away any lymphatic fluid build-up then apply a tiny dot of aftercare with a cotton bud to sooth then skin. Do every 60 minutes for the full day. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymph and will minimize peeling.
DAYS 1-7: CLEANSE
Cleanse daily to remove bacteria and dead skin. (Don’t worry….THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!)
Gently wash your eyebrows each morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap something gentle (I have one in clinic I can recommend). With a very light touch, and clean hands use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. In a circular motion gentle cover area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants.
DAYS 1-7: Protect
Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton bud and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo. Here are some extra tips to help with a smooth and easy recovery.
IMPORTANT REMINDER
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SHOWERING
Limit your showers to 5 minutes so you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should only be getting wet at the very last end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.
Remember, with the proper prep and aftercare routine you will have much better results with your all your cosmetic tattoo procedures.
Don’t forget your new favourite acronym:
SCP – SOOTH, CLEANSE, PROTECT!
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
As a rule, it is a very gentle treatment and feels like a light scratchy feeling, however if required I can help you with topical anaesthetic, this cream is applied to numb the area before and during the procedure. It is essential to recognise that everyone feels pain differently and levels vary from person to person, your comfort throughout the entirety of the procedure is of utmost importance. Personal circumstances such as the timing of a menstrual cycle may increase discomfort throughout the procedure.
WHAT FACTORS WILL AFFECT MY PERMANENT MAKEUP?
A multitude of individual and lifestyle factors will affect the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo including the following:
As a precaution, we do not perform cosmetic tattooing if any of the below apply:
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET TATTOOED?
You must be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo service from Artist Debbie Labes.
Cosmetic tattoo treatments generally last for one – two years as each unique skin type holds pigment differently. It takes two appointments for your eyebrow treatment to be complete. I recommend clients revisit the clinic approximately 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment for a retouch. In most cases there will be areas in the brows that haven’t taken to the pigment as well which is what we address at the follow up appointment. The areas that need addressing are generally very minor, resulting in a short appointment. In some cases, it only takes one appointment for brows to be complete, but for flawless results we recommend booking the follow up appointment. It should be acknowledged that fading occurs due to increased sun exposure, contact with facial chemical peels and also when a lighter tattoo pigment is used.
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY EYEBROW PROCEDURE?
Eyebrows will be filled during your session so it’s not necessary to do this yourself. Make sure you have had a good night sleep the night before something light to eat and low stress levels. It is imperative that medication which causes blood thinning is avoided for a minimum of 72 hours prior to a session. If you are unsure, please check with your doctor but these generally include medications such as Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin (vit B), fish oil and Ibuprofen (found in Advil and Nurofen). As well as certain medication, alcohol and caffeine is to be avoided the night before and day of your session. Exposure to sun as well as UV tanning bed exposure should be avoided for 30 days prior and following your procedure due to the risk of skin exfoliation. Your appointment will be rescheduled and the deposit will be forfeited if you show up for your treatment with a new tan or sunburn. PLEASE NOTE: If using prescription Accutane, you MUST wait a minimum of six months before considering undertaking a cosmetic tattoo procedure. The procedure cannot be performed whilst on Accutane.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
As each person’s healing rate is different, a minimum of two sessions is needed which occur at least four weeks apart. As mentioned, a second session will determine how each skin type retains the colour of the tattoo pigment as well as the skins healing rate. During the first week of healing, colour will appear dramatically lighter. Any desired adjustments can be made in this session to create a darker or bolder tattoo.
PLEASE NOTE: If you require a previous tattoo re-worked, consultation or a photo MUST be emailed to us PRIOR to booking an appointment as results on such cases cannot be guaranteed. We must assess whether previous work can be covered up or re-worked and will almost always require touch ups or removal. Removal will be necessary if previous work is too dark, dense, discoloured or large. This service will be charged accordingly.
HOW WILL I LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER? WHAT IS THE HEALING PROCESS?
In the first few days following the procedure, pigment will appear dark and intense and redness and swelling is rare, but might also happen. During the healing process, the pigment will gradually appear lighter in the first week.
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT LONG TERM CARE?
Long-term care for your cosmetic tattoo is imperative in sustaining bold pigment. Factors such as individual skin type, pigment colour and lifestyle choices will affect your tattoo in the long term. It should be acknowledged that increased exposure to sun will contribute to a faster pigment fade so sunscreen application after healing is highly recommended. Chemical peels, laser treatments or other medical procedures to the facial area should be cautious of the tattoo area. You must advise your technician as care must be taken around these areas.
HOW WILL MY COSMETIC TATTOO LOOK IN THE FUTURE?
To achieve natural looking eyebrows, a thorough skin analysis will be undertaken. This will predict how the skin will hold the pigment, and will analyse the skin’s undertone to ensure a perfect colour match to your existing eyebrow and hair colour. Four weeks after your initial procedure, the second session will determine how the skin has responded to the pigment and any alterations can be made if necessary. As mentioned, individual and lifestyle factors will affect how the tattoo will fade but the majority of our client’s tattoos stay true to colour and fade naturally over time. It is recommended that clients return every one – two years for a top-up appointment as fading will generally create a lighter and softer look to your eyebrow tattoo.
WILL COSMETIC TATTOOING WORK WELL FOR ME?
There are some cases where cosmetic tattooing will not work depending on skin type, existing hair and/or lifestyle choices. Iron deficient or anaemic clients should be advised that increased bleeding may occur during the procedure as well as a faster fade of the pigment over time. This is also the case for frequent smokers. Clients with oily skin types should acknowledge that microblading for eyebrow tattooing will not work well as the constant oil production will gradually soften the look. For clients with little to no existing eyebrow hair, the results will appear much less natural and will give a less 3D look to the eyebrows.
